Course Description
CS470 aims to introduce students to academic research in Computer Science. It allows students to experience first-hand the challenges and exhilaration of research, discovery and innovation, and enriches their academic experience by working at/near the frontiers of research in computer science.
Course Learning Outcomes
Develop a project proposal specifying the research area, the goal of the research and a plan to achieve the research goal
Conduct research with appropriate methodology
Write a term paper that includes a literature review, problem formulation, evaluation
Expose to research seminars and deliver a summary report
